Hi Fishes,
Anyone here at Luxoft with permanent remote ? I got an offer. Will they ask to come to office at any point ? What about job security at Luxoft ? HR mentioned 8 hours per day and no need to enter timesheet, time will be auto captured. That means like we can't be away from the system at all ? Please help.
Thanks

I disagree, your making sure your family member gets the best care possible. Also because its your unit, you know right from wrong. If you don't advocate, who will.
Wishing your loved one healing & wellness.🤗
Could you maybe discuss your concerns with another family member that's seen the care themselves, or expressed concerns as well? Maybe you could encourage them to make a report?
That’s a GREAT SUGGESTION 🙂
are you a mandated reporter? if so you have every right to file a complaint.
Davita1, i think someone in a setting of needing care and is being neglected is considered vulnerable
OP please do not take this comment into consideration, please still report. you will NOT get in trouble for filing a false report.
You should not be working in that place if they are providing "subpar" care to any patients!
Maybe what you see is "subpar" because now you see how bad it is when it is your family member, but most likely that level of service is the "norm" there but you did not notice it until you had a family member admitted at your unit.
Speak up for your family. You will get pushback but if the unit you work on delivers sup par treatment then move on
Move them to a different hospital then you can intervene
She has to remain anonymous people are cutthroat these days.
First, I’m truly sorry. I’ve been in healthcare for 25 years. Also my brother’s legal guardian. if I breathe too loud, everyone hates me. I currently have 3 open investigations with the Justice Dept for my brother who lives in a group home.
It sucks so bad. I would go to the patient advocate. Let that be the middle person so you’re not the one in direct communication with staff. The case manager or social worker, if one had been assigned, can also help you navigate this. Tbh, I hold ppl accountable. I’d hope my manager would step in and ask how they could help. Thats just me.
Tap in if you need more options. The facility should also be centering you bc they understand this is a unique position that deserves to be fully acknowledged and supported. Sending you hugs.
Right. Documenting is key. Have a family member who u trust write everything down in a notebook. Trust me on this. Better care will follow
Don’t forget you can always call the Ombudsman and report patient abuse, neglect, etc anonymously. They will do an investigation and follow up.
I have worked for physicians all my life (office work, generally) I’ve always asked questions and paid close attention to detail. I believe, especially if you are a nurse or higher, I’d speak up, ask questions or at least record time, date, details of the shortcut, etc. (quietly when nobody’s looking). You would feel bad, I’m sure, if something happened and the details were just forgotten regarding your loved one.
Not sure if the environment is a hospital or nursing home but I believe your first duty as a nurse or a caregiver acting family member is overseeing proper care? If you family member develops a serious infection due to inadequate care (if you are describing the lack of care in this degree), would you rather speak up & prevent the infection or quietly keep your position? Im not sure what degree of lack of proper care you are referring..so I cant make that decision for you. Healthcare is lacking strong dedicated staff everywhere I thought? You think you couldn't be rehired without difficulty?
There is usually a patient avocate/ombudsman in.most health facilities. Is the patient unable to speak for themselves? Do they have a Healthcare POA or next of kin?
Keep secret documentation if you can. Daye/time/ staff involved..details..outcome. if you can have a famoly member grab a picture on THEIR phone..but don't stay silent until its life-threatening!!
Its a hard one to wrestle. Go with your gut. God will take care of the rest. What does the law say about what is lacking? Major or minor?
Good luck..update us if you can with the outcome.
As a professional disabilities I would go to the super and tell them what you just wrote here. They will agree no reason for shortcuts it's irrelevant that your related, you not their caregiver.
No dilemma, if you don't feel like he is getting what he needs he needs to be moved somewhere else, FAMILY FIRST
I would for a HIPPA complaint
Speak to your omnusbudsman . I would also make a call to the state as you have to report this.
Most organizations have an open-door policy and have policies that state if you see something, report it. It's that simple. If something is being done wrong, incorrectly, or not to standard, you have the responsibility of bringing this forward or to light. I work in healthcare, and I push for all staff to perform and do their duties. If the job has a job flow and it says that you do x, then the staff is to do x.
The staff can put away their phones and simply perform the tasks that they are being well paid to do.
I walk onto hospital floors, and you can immediately tell if the staff are focused on taking care of the patients or are too busy with their phones and other nonsense. While at work, we have the sworn responsibility to provide care, to provide a service, and to do a job.
As a family member or a co-worker, if I see someone not doing their job, then you can either tell the person you are to be doing x, or you can use the hotline, and report said person, or you can go to said person's supervisor. In all aspects, honor God by doing what is right and taking care of the patient to the highest level of care.
Use an intermediary …other family members? Or you can go a pt. Advocate route
Involve the hospital Ombudsman (not sure where your located) BUT also have family who witness care be present during a consultation.
Be careful I’m in Nursing, and there are boundaries Ethically we’re trained to respect and obey. Blessings as you enter this journey!🙂
This is what you do you talk to your manager and you tell them what you have seen for a patient and ask them hypothetically if that is a correct action now. Now you do not mention that it is a family member because that's a HIPAA violation that's why you say hypothetically is this the correct action and you gauge the reaction so from there if the manager is a nice manager then you can say well if that's not the correct action then what can he or she or they do about it and then you can get some kind of resolution.
