I’m currently in Security Forces tech school for the Georgia Air National Guard and i’m curious of what civilian careers I can apply to once I graduate an become a defender. Whether it’s law enforcement, TSA, or whatever I can qualify for. If anyone has any advice where should I start looking and how can I get started? Thanks for your time.

If I could give you any wisdom, it would be to focus on being the absolute best at tech school, and try to be the best SF troop you can be when you get to your first base. Get really good at your job, learn the regs, laws, and SOPs that are required at your duty station. Get all of additional specialty training courses you can as they cone up(those lead to other opportunities). They will help you. You’ll be evaluated yearly by your supervisor, so show up on time ready to do a good job with a great attitude and the world will open up to you. I promise. The other stuff will come, but if you really want the best shot at success, be your best right now.

The short answer:
Air Marshal
LE
FBI (4 year degree)
Customs Border Patrol
Security Details
Contractor (overseas)
…the list goes on and on. Be your best now and get whatever free training the AF will throw at you.

On that note Air Marshall requires a 4 year degree as well.

I would say anything in law enforcement really or TSA, it's all on your preferences. I mean it won't be like you're super special, but having that military background gives you a leg up nothing major.
Start by looking into all the police Academies/agencies that will pay you to go to an academy. If you feel like going bigger start with some of the federal places.

The best advice I can give you as a former SEL in SF, is be your best. 1 day at a time, then once you are through your basics. Look for local PDs in GA. Cobb county is always hiring as well as other local PDs, GA has limited federal jobs, local LE will be your best option, but honestly SF only gives you a very basic LE expertise. As a guard member do well and lean on the NCOs and SNCOs in the unit, they will be able to help you do what’s best. Many of them will be LE in the state. If you have no issues relocating DC, has so many positions in LE. Good luck to you.

Hi fishies,

I am a digital marketing professional with 4 years of experience. I was really frustrated in my current job due to extreme level of micro management and no growth career wise, so I have resigned on 3rd October. Tomorrow, after a meeting with ceo I will get to know how many days of NP I have to serve.
It would be really helpful if I could get referral from you guys.

I am ready to take remote jobs & even relocate to Bangalore or Pune.

Thank you!
