Can one become financially stable after being discharged from the military?

Has anyone here ever gifted a stock? Do you know the process? (Especially on Robinhood or Fidelity)

I have mostly passive investments. I was thinking the other day: what if everyone had only passive investments? Wouldn’t this create incredibly high amount of systemic risk? Are we all sheep??

My goal is to save 300k by end of 3rd year. HCOL. Do you think I can do it? Or maybe 5th year?

If I’m contributing to my Roth 401k vs pretax 401k and my employer matches 10% of my contributions. My employer match be 10% on my post tax contributions right? Technically meaning I’ll be getting less of my 10% employer match then if I were to do pretax 401k since that match would be on a higher amount?

Have 50k in a checking account at a local bank getting no returns. I like having liquid assets since I support currently myself & girlfriend and any unexpected expenses my mother & younger brother have. Currently renting for ~ $1500/mo in a low COL city. My lease ends in Dec and am looking to purchase a property and get into rental game. I have $40K in bank, but I’m not sure what my max investment should be or will be approved for. Would it be feasible to keep renting and also try to rent out a purchased rental property given my liquid cash?
