I’m currently interviewing for an FP&A role at a Pre-IPO startup, and the CFO basically told me to expect public hours for the next year. He tried to frame it as building something special, but all I heard was you’re going to be doing three people's jobs for one salary. The equity looks good on paper, but we all know that 90% of these options end up being worthless. Is it actually worth the risk, or should I stick to a boring, stable Fortune 500?

I’m in a rental with a lease that says no pets (i’m sure a common clause?) and i didn’t have any pets moving in. 6 months in, i got a puppy lol. I don’t want to invite potential conflict by updating my landlord, my lawyer partner says the no pets clause is void in toronto anyway - but I worry about a bad landlord reference if they find out i.e come for repairs.

Should you discuss salary range with an internal company recruiter prior to setting up an interview? With external recruiters it’s pretty easy to talk about the expected range.
