I’m from a pretty small town where people don’t really like to “stand out” too much. Although, I LOVE dressing up! I follow influencers who have great style and I like to create my own looks as well. Although, my friend group is very toned down and I’m starting to feel a bit more awkward when we go out. They don’t make me feel bad although they do definitely tease a little. What do you guys do in this situation?

Find a new go out group and perhaps…as I get older I realize life is too short to hang around people where you can’t be authentically you

Not sure what’s being said, but they may tease because they don’t have the guts to dress in a way that stands out like you. I too am from a small town and dressed (still do) differently when I lived here, in NYC and back here. I mostly got compliments from friends though.

It’s not easy, but try to find friends who are more passionate about fashion/dressing up and you will have kindred spirits. I noticed when getting older, ones does have to either get rid of friends or segment them.

It sounds like you may need to start expanding your circle. Nothing wrong with your main crew but you have new interest and it’s nice to have a group or person that understands that part of you too. We aren’t one dimensional, we’re constantly evolving daily, embrace all of you and all of your interest. Don’t feel like you can’t show up and show out because others don’t have an interest in their attire.

Hi All! Looking for some advice. I am a manager a country club but I do everything. I’m in charge of outside events and member events, in charge of the front of house staff, scheduling, ordering and membership sales for the club. I feel I am very underpaid at $45k. I do get commission but it’s very low ($10k give or take for the year). I work 6/7 days a week sometimes 10+ hrs/day. I’ve been researching salaries to be able to negotiate higher pay. I want to ask for $60k-is this reasonable?

I started interviewing early Oct with a company that reached out via recruiter. The hiring manager was very straight forward with me that I was his top candidate and I was told all other interviews were very positive incl CMO. The recruiter said they'd be making an offer but it's now been three weeks. Anyone else had the process drag on like this? Meanwhile I'm taking other interviews and was offered a promotion at current company, but was very interested in this one. What would you do?

I really need advice. I’ve been in my current role for a couple years and I’m just so defeated. I am good at my job. I work so hard and I’m so undervalued and unappreciated. My work is scrutinized to a degree that no one else experiences (I could give concrete examples of other people delivering design work that haven’t met BASIC design principles and it’s gotten approved) compared to me where I frequently get feedback that somehow makes my work worse but I just comply because it’s not (1/2)

Due to a recent company-wide increase and additional pay for bilingual direct reports I am only making a dollar and change above them as their supervisor. I was hired into this position in March, having been the first employee in this department. I really tried to get them to budge on salary, they did not, but shortly after accepting they gave the whole company a dollar raise.

Any suggestions on how this might be addressed?

What were your raise percentages in 2022?
I’m very disappointed with my 2.5% raise considering inflation, my good review, and all the extra effort I put in this year for a good raise. Should I ask for more?
