Nothing changes if nothing changes.
My advice, apply to new jobs and stop torturing yourself. Life’s to short to work in a hell-hole.
This is why people jump ship
Worth fighting anymore. It’s driving me insane though. Because it happens daily. I see people delivering things that I KNOW would be torn apart if I delivered it.
I’ve seen my manager and team lead make basic design mistakes and I say nothing because obviously I’m a junior and what am I supposed to do about it.. especially because I feel like it’s becoming clear to my superiors that I’m having a tough time here right now. I fear it would come off as petty or something so I avoid it unless it’s like really bad. I’m just tired… And I don’t even get paid that well.. doesn’t feel worth it.
Find another job. Are you sticking around because it’s some major agency you think looks good on your resume? That won’t do you any favors if you build a portfolio of produced crap work
When/if you move, it doesn’t mean losing good friends. I still get together with my old creative team. We have a semi- regular poker game that’s been ongoing for over 10 years. Good luck with your decision.

What's making you stay then?
Look for another job without burning any bridges. I’ve learned there are great places where you aren’t expecting to find it, even if you think you’re at the best place. Sometimes taking another gig with a title bump and then boomerang back to the old place, you might be above your mentor. I’ve done that.

Ask your ACD and/ or CD why this is happing.
Alright my harsh honest assessment.
Scenario 1: you have an overly glorified view of your own work, those critiquing it are correct, you can’t accept it, and as such you’re venting here on fishbowl rather than following their criticism and improving/learning. In which case, try to figure that out.
Scenario 2: for some reason you can’t put your finger on, those critiquing your work “don’t like you” and they’ve found some small element of your design style to constantly harp on and point out. Maybe this meets BASIC design principles as you’ve mentioned, in your definition. But maybe that doesn’t align with their basic design principles. Maybe you’re right, and they’re wrong. In which case, try to figure that out.
Scenario 3: the least likely, but the most voluptuous. Those who critique you see something in your work that’s better than theirs, and they’re intimidated, so they’re over flexing their authority in order to hold you down and protect themselves. In which case, leave.
Scenario 4: those who critique you actually see you as more capable than your counterparts, and are holding you to a higher standard. See: the movie “Whiplash.” In which case, accept this honor and stay to develop.
You may not like my words, but you must choose a scenario and decide a path.
