I’m in my 5th year as manager at my firm, and the signs are clear that I’m not on the Director/Partner track.

FWIW, I dealt with the onset of an invisible disability very poorly. I didn’t ask for help and fell into a deep depression for two years—I own the mistakes I made. Thankfully, I’m feeling much better and am ready to start fresh at a new firm.

I have an interview on Monday with the department head at a regional firm. I’m just wondering what to expect and the questions I should ask.

For anyone that’s interested, I had the interview yesterday and it actually went very well.

I ended up chatting the department head for an additional 30 minutes past the scheduled interview. They made me feel like I’d have a chance to progress (career wise) in the way I’m expecting at this firm.

More importantly, I felt cool, calm, collected, and confident during the conversation—none of the doubt, timidity, or apprehension creeped in as is the case at my current firm.

What’s even better is that I heard back from the recruiter last night and then department head this morning.

They let me know they’d like to set up another meeting with two other partners in the department this week.

At a minimum, I’m thinking I’m on the shortlist, but I’m hoping for so much more than that.

As I’m typing this I’m already feeling the potential relief that will come with this fresh new start.

Keeping my fingers crossed for more good news in the coming weeks.🤞

ADHD medication with high Blood Pressure?

I found ADHD meds helpful when I worked in consulting in my 20s. I stopped the meds when I went back to school. Also have had High BP since late 20s. 15 years away, I am back in consulting and loving it, however my difficulties juggling so many projects/tasks is holding me back. I know I would benifit from some ADHD medication but my Dr won’t prescribe any with my history of BP (controlled with BP meds). Anyone else gone through this? Any tips?

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.
