Don’t listen to these guys either do powertochoose.com or do energy ogre for the first year until you know what your energy consumption will look like. There’s no such thing as brand loyalty with electricity it’s just pricing based on usage
I second Energy Ogre. It’s phenomenal.
In Dallas, it doesn't matter. They all run off the same grid, so when the power goes out for one company, it goes out for all companies. Go with what's cheaper.
I use TXU. Not the greatest in the world but pricing has been fair and I take advantage of their savings opportunities.

I’m a TXU guy. So far, I have not been surprised by any of my bills. Auto play and forget
I used to be you, till I realized you’re probably paying double with TXU if you live in a house. But if you live in a small apartment, the savings are likely negligible for now
TXU is almost never the cheapest option. My rec is to use Energy Ogre to choose for you
It's hot as hell here and they do intermittent electrical outages during peak usage times because it's all controlled by ERCOT. Boring, too. I'm going back to Chicago 😌
You must have signed up for a "rapid rewards" type program through nest.
I've never once had this happen.

Depends on your location in Dallas but I used Champion energy
Check out Energy Ogre before you sign with anyone!

Matter of where you live. Dallas area is too big to call out one electric company.
Ambit is expensive. Apartment complex “recommended” them. Didn’t realize till later that there are a ton of choices out there.
yeah Texas is deregulated so you have to go to this website where they give you a list of hundreds of companies ordered by their spot rates, and you just sign up for one. https://myvaluepower.com/
