I literally have to google this whenever I use it. But thankfully I don’t use excel often
The secret handshake. You know. The one required to become a partner at any firm.
Heard it's not really a handshake, although you do extend your arm and go through similar motions
Managing people. I tend to get along super well with my direct reports but I am still learning the ropes with regards to coaching. Managing high performers, managing low performers. It’s not fun. Sometimes, I just want to do the work and do it well vs coach someone.
2nd this. In the context of an engagement, I think I do ok (can always improve). With internal coaching, the big challenge is coaching vs. recognizing when a person may not be a good fit for this type of work. I have had some great coachees who are eager to learn and be coached, deliver quality work, and overall leadership recognizes it. I have also come across people who are either unmotivated and content, or just flat out think the deck is rigged against them and are unwilling to be coached if I offer support to work through it. In that case, it might require more extensive coaching, but where you draw the line when they seem unwilling to accept coaching, I don’t know sometimes.
