I’m not a picky. I found my dream dress but it is 12.5k. I can’t afford that. I kept looking and found the same dress in SLC for 3050 for online only. Still a bit out of budget but better than the first. I was going to fly and try on the dress in store but in store the dress is 9155. Now I’m debating on just buying. But then I showed it to my group and everyone except a few said I should keep looking. I’m worried about losing out on my dream dress but what if it actually isn’t the right one?

Having just planned my daughter’s wedding, I can tell you that alterations are expensive. The dress she picked out seemed reasonable (though still expensive) and then we got to alterations - that added another 2000$$ to it.

You are going to look beautiful in whatever dress you pick it’s your day and your are the center of attention. However, do you want to blow that much of your budget on a dress, one that only gets worn for a short amount of time and will never get worn again??

There have to be other options that are just as beautiful but fit more in your budget. If you can’t find another dress that makes your eyes light up then yea this was the one. But maybe you should see what Elise is out there before making your final decision.

I feel like you’re looking for us to give you the approval to go ahead with the dress if you love it. The truth is, it would be a foolish decision to get this dress if your budget is 25K. You should keep looking or increase your budget. If you buy this dress, it’s going to be the wrong decision.

You want to have to wear no underwear all day…?

So I tried it on with skims and it helps with that!

If your budget including alterations is below the $3050 you reference above I would not be looking for a dress as naked as this one as the fit and fabric quality is going to be so insanely critical to being able to pull it off.

Also, gently, unless you are having an extremely fashion forward, spendy wedding I might look for a dress more in line with the event.

4k is still 16% of your budget. You’re going to feed everyone, get them all drinks, deal with any transportation, a photographer, hair, makeup, DJ or band, flowers, etc all for under 21k? I’d really recommended you stick to under 2k for a dress, which is still a very expensive dress

That dress is to die for!! Get measured and buy it in your size or close to your size on stillwhite (preowned dresses).

The “one” isn’t real. There are plenty of dresses that you will look great in. Going over budget for a dress you will wear for just a few hours isn’t worth it.

Keep looking. All my friends got married (including myself) and everyone wishes they would have skipped paying so much for a wedding. It’s only 1 night and that $$ could go to a great honeymoon. Enzoani has gorgeous dresses

Sorry I meant everyone loved it in my group chat but some said I should keep looking.

Did you feel that it's the one? If not, keep looking. Otherwise, get it. It's your wedding and you should wear the dress that makes you feel hot, sexy, beautiful and happy.

I did feel it was the one!

If you need it hemmed when it comes, or any alteratins that can be another 800 to 1200. Have you tried on something similar? I thought I knew what I wanted, then started trying styles on. I wanted to dance all night, be comfortable sitting. I had several people tell me not to get a mermaid style for this reason. Got a slim style without the mermaid.
And don't let them alter it too snug on the hips so it pulls if you gain an ounce

Look on JJHouse. They will mail you ones to try on and then you can order one made to fit you and already hemmed. While I didn't do my dress,I did all my bridesmaids. Great quality, under $100 and the all lived them. If your budge4 is really 25K. You will regret spending this on a dress.

I second JJ’s House! I got two dresses (a ceremony dress and a reception dress) there for combined $500. And they fit perfectly! It was the best!

We’re trying to avoid having an additional event Saturday night - any idea on if these guests would need to have food arranged for them by us and what that could look like on a cost effective budget.
