For those who had Catholic ceremonies.. What kind of shoes did you wear that had bottom soles that looked nice in pics? In other words, shoes with bottoms that don’t look scratched up when you are kneeling at the altar.

Gosh I never even thought about it. You are overthinking. (Meant in a helpful, non-critical way. 😊)

Haha maybe I’m overthinking, or maybe a little too bored during mass. I remember sitting in the pews during a wedding and staring at some scratched up bottoms, just thought it could be a better look

You can go to a shoe repair person and they can sand and paint the bottoms of any shoe, while also applying a coat that will help with future scratches and damages.

I did this for my Louboutins and the repairman said that I should get this coating applied for future shows to prevent scratches.

Good tip!!

Will your feet be visible with the pew (or chair) behind you? I’ve been wearing my shoes for dance lessons so they’ll be somewhat worn in lol

Ahh ok. What about doing the tradition where the groom writes a message on your shoe and you on his? The message likely won’t be visible to the guests but they might realize that’s why the bottom is dark?

Surveying the crowd: do you all prefer receiving cash gifts or physical gifts from your registry?

We're recently married and got a mix of both, and I can't decide what I want to do for friends' weddings going forward. On the one hand, the cash gifts were incredible and financed our honeymoon. But I also enjoy looking at things around the house and remembering who gave them. I'm curious what everyone thinks!

Had anyone here planned a wedding in 3 months or less? Am I crazy? I’m already legally married (small wedding during Covid) but looking to throw a larger celebration of sorts. Originally wanted next spring but my husband and I are wanting to start trying for kids and so I’m leaning this fall or it’ll have to potentially wait until after we have our first kiddo (don’t want to risk a spring date and end up pregnant ha). So is it crazy to think I can plan something for this fall?

Getting married in the Caribbean end of February. Going absolutely nuts with the range of my RSVP emails. Young people “can’t wait, so excited!!!!”, old people “too afraid to travel”. If it were in January I’d prob postpone, but I kinda feel like end of Feb might be ok? And who’s to say if I move it there won’t be another variant. FWIW planning to require rapid tests, the country requires vaccines everywhere, etc but people are either v comfortable or not at all. 😑 no q, just commiserating

Booked a villa for 50-60 guests for our destination wedding in Tuscany. The hotel required us to pre-pay for the rooms and won’t accept direct payments from guests. This means we need to find a way to “charge” each of our guests for the cost. Any recs? Thought of PayPal and Venmo but would prefer being able to create a website that feels more legit / seamless and allows for credit cards if needed. There are many different room types and we’d like to be able to feature them so guests can choose.

I’m in need of some advice for my bridal shower. I’m trying to condense the list to help my mom & bridesmaids. We are inviting my fiancés coworkers and their significant others to the wedding.
