I think it’s important because sometimes you think you want things that you don’t…
I loved my hair but if I would’ve tried it, I would’ve gone a different route.

So I did mine and it was helpful because I got a sense of the HMU artist and how she worked. However I was a bit too relaxed with the process on the day of my wedding because I'd trusted her to follow the same process then, and it wasn't as good that day so that definitely was frustrating
I did a trial run for h/m and it was worth it. Better to get it right the first time than absolutely hate it on the day of your wedding. That way the artist will already have a sense of your skin and hair type. There won’t be time wasted the day of trying to relay your vision to them.
Unless you know your person really well I would say yes, along with knowing what you want 100%
I did one and thank god I did. When I said I wanted a natural look…it was way too natural and I wouldn’t have been happy. Glad we had a trial so they could better understand what I want and I knew how to better communicate it
Yes, doing the trial helped me land on my wedding look. We did a couple of different looks to identify what makes the most sense for me, and she gave me a few recs on products to incorporate into my skincare routine so my skin will be extra glowy and supple come wedding day. She also gave me tips on haircuts and haircare to be wedding ready. While expensive, the trial was absolutely worth it. I booked her the very next day.
I thought it was worth it. I have a ton of hair and massive veil so giving my hair dresser a chance to practice and come up with a plan was a huge help. Makeup was also worth it as I had a few small changes to the over all look. It wasn’t a big deal but I feel so much more relaxed knowing we worked it out ahead of time
Mine was worth it too. Thought I wanted loose waves and full lashes/coverage, the trial made me realize I wanted to look like myself more than anything.
Agree it’s important to know if you actually like their work. If you can, do the trial a day you have an event or are going out so it feels like less of a “waste”.
A great question —- however my trials are this Thursday.
Worth it so you will feel more comfortable on the wedding day. My hair stylist won’t even send a contract for bridal hair without a trial, to ensure it’s a personality fit. Without my hair trial, I wouldn’t have found the style I ended up wearing on my wedding day. Without my makeup trial, we wouldn’t have adjusted the blush (too dark), lips (too pink and shiny), and eyelashes (from caters to doll). I’m so glad I did them!
Yes! My makeup artist did airbrush spray-on makeup for the trial, and it didn’t work with my oily/sweaty skin. 2 hours later it was dripping down my face. Switched to a mattifying traditional foundation and all was fine (same makeup artist). Would NOT have wanted that to happen on the day. Also realized I hated the eye lashes she used and the winged liner. Individual lash clumps and gel pencil liner was so much more flattering for my eye shape.
It was worth it for me! The makeup lasted allll day long. Every time I saw myself in a mirror, photo or window, I thought, wow that makeup looks so good!
