Bain & Company Atlanta people! I’m in the process of applying for MBA programs and wanted to ask what recruiting is like for MBB from Emorys program? Is there a reasonable shot at getting into the Atlanta office from Emory, or are those openings primarily filled by other schools (Duke, UVA, etc.)

2-3 people from the class make it to MBB a year. Those odds aren’t great. MBB doesn’t consider Emory a target and you won’t have the resources or attention they give target schools. If you want to maximize your chances you need to go to Duke or UVA if you’re looking at southeast programs.

Was considering Emory, but it’s a lot of money. Also smaller school just means smaller network, though it’s still a great school. Honestly was leaning towards GT - good brand and half the cost.
It is hard to get into MBB from Emory or GT's MBA program (not impossible just hard). If that is your goal, I would recommend a top 10 program.
Emory is really more of a Big4 school, we interviewed a couple people from Emory but little traction what I have seen
Probs not
Most recent graduating class: 5 went to Atlanta offices, 6 total to MBBs
Hi! I was in the same boat and I got into Emory! However I did not choose to go there. I ended up going to Booth.
Emory is very much a great consulting school, but they aren’t great with MBB. Although they place a few, I reviewed their profiles they have prior consulting experience or existing contacts. In contrast to other feeder schools (M7) have designated events, programs and OCR (campus recruiting) focused at MBB OR B4. Imagine 2-3 mbb compared to 105 at kellog/booth end up at mbb. See FT employment reports..
You already work at Deloitte so maybe you are ok, I don’t have a prior consulting exp so I have to rely on the schools resources a little more.
My experience has been it all boils down to how you build your profile in the next year and the way you perform in the interviews. I joined the Atlanta office a couple years ago as a post MBA hire with no MBA but came in with 5 years of industry experience.
Good luck
Good to know. Anything in particular that sticks out with what Bain looks for in a profile?
One other item to add is if you are worried about cost, Emory is pretty good about scholarship money for top candidates.
