Just signed the outside employment form in KPMG onboarding system. I actually wanted to start dabbling in creative writing as a potentially monetizable hobby, but I'm guessing this may pose issues.
Definitely interested in the "exception from this policy may be requested if provision of non-professional services doesn't interfere with one's duties of causes conflict of interest" clause, though. Has anyone been able to get one of those before?

Anything in professional services is boosted by GenAi in my experience: math, writing, logic, brainstorming. It’s almost a the perfect “talking notebook”. This can somewhat extend to consumer applications although will vary based on quality standards for whatever AI generated output you’re looking for. But for problem solving, it’s magical.
It's a good starting point for problems but still needs human direction
I use it to help me code every day. I’m much faster at addressing bugs and putting applications into production because of it.
The headline reminds me of the Today Show questioning the purpose of the internet in the mid-90s.
Coding is unparalleled
That is the question, isn't it? The practical use I have found for it is to use it for brainstorming. I'd be wary of using the output from AI for anything that leaves my hands. First of all, I'm not sure it's even ethical, as you usually don't know where the content was scraped from, so it's tacit plagiarism. And the material usually isn't that good. But the thing is, for most people, AI slop will be "good enough." So we probably will be seeing AI written shows and movies before long.
Very true
I’m considering coding CEO.ai it will spend 1% of its time making videos showing it’s helping children and the homeless. 1% of its time increasing pay packages for itself and the C-Suite, 0.05% of its time reducing headcount to fund a stock buy back, further increasing its pay packages. The other 97.5% it will sit idle to save the environment, plus no jet required. Subscriptions start at 1 million a month. The sales pitch might be difficult.
Lol
All of the VC funding is in the promise of future features and use cases, not around what's currently there.
