Job-Hunting reach-out to VC from previous fundraising effort for own startup
I have e-mail archive from 1y ago of my reach-out to 65 VCs in London: we had video calls, they might remember me still, who knows.
I want to send a reply/forward message to the same e-mail thread from abc@gmail.com, saying that I am looking for roles within their VC firm. Is that a good idea?
Or shall I just start new email thread and mention how I know them?
Had a bad showing for case interview about a month ago. I knew the material i just straight up had a bad day. Took feedback in exit interview and feel prepared to reapply for a different role with no cool off time… should I still wait or shoot my shot?

That question used to throw me off, too. But I think they’re just trying to gauge how quickly they need to move or where they stand in your priorities. I usually say something like, "Yes, I’m in conversations with a few companies, but I’m excited about this opportunity and think it could be a strong fit." That way, you're being honest and showing enthusiasm.
You definitely want to say yes, dont want to look desperate and want them to feel the crunch.
The answer is always yes. Anything else and there is no urgency on their end.
The answer is yes. And keep it simple-yes, I am discussing possibilities with other companies. Don’t give them names, etc., unless you have another offer on the table.
I’ve kept it kind of vague in the past when asked this. I am currently considering options that are the right fit or something like that. Guess this can be kind of looked at like a sales tactic, manufacturing that sense of urgency. Limited time offer and upcoming price increase might be pushing it, though 😂
If you say no, they know they are the only one that matters, which means they’ll wait six months before really deciding you’re the right fit. There is no urgency at all.
But if they like you a lot AND you’re about to be scooped up by another firm? Now there is urgency to hire you and more willingness to negotiate.
Be honest and say “Until I get a job offer, I am going to keep looking!”
