I’m starting to track all the times I’ve taken on urgent projects after hours, and now I’m wondering if that should factor into my salary discussion. I don’t want to come off as complaining, just realistic about the workload. Has anyone used after-hours contributions in their negotiation strategy?

What is your work day like as a manager? I recently made the transition from being an individual contributor to a team manager and I feel that I have time at hand that I'm not using wisely. My day includes giving directions to the team, reviewing their output, aligning plan & work with seniors and clients. I finally got a raise (after 10 years) from 45k to 50k with less than 10k in incentives while others who are just starting at lower positions make more than me..I want to bring this up but don’t want to come off in a bad way considering they finally gave me a raise this year.

I received an offer for a role that is a lot more money than I thought but I still want to negotiate and see how much more money I can get. What can I say if the salary is already above average for the role in the market and city I live in?

I’m interviewing with a startup and the range has a 40k difference from the lowest to highest point. It’s also pre-seed and comes with equity, and health, 401k benefits. It’s a director of sales role so I would eventually be recruiting and managing a team along with building the processes and strategy. What would you consider a fair compensation package? If they offer me something on the lower end of the range, is it still appropriate to counter with an offer that is over their stated range?
