It was a monumental moment when we finally had access to DSL back in the day! Grew up in the middle of no place, and while other areas were getting T1, we still had dial-up. Never occurred to me that it is still used and an accessibility option today. We try to focus and continuously improve on our accessibility options, and it isn’t a one-and-done effort. It’s always evolving.

That was a simpler time. I was in highschool when our family first got aol and DSL. I remembering having to ask my parents if I could use the internet and had to justify using the line.
Our company is a consumer goods alcohol brand and I just took a look at few of our brands sites. Some are much better than others. I’ll have to look into what we do for accessibility. At my last company we actually ran accessibility tests on our digital properties.

I want to go back to those days! When the internet was part of your life, not your entire life. We need that sort of balance back.

This is true. I haven’t looked at it that way in a while.
Ah man, AOL is such a throwback. I still remember how exciting I used to get whenever I'd get a new friend on AIM 😂. We focus on accessibility, just not in the form of internet connection. It's all about optimizing our site and emails for e-readers so that visually impaired visitors are still able to navigate them with ease.

Same here. Until a few years ago, I didn’t realize this accessibility need kept them in business all these years.
No I remember when dial up first came out. That’s the Internet we started with. I honestly didn’t know that dial up was still a thing for anyone. I am hoping this leads to other companies expanding their services, but I guess we’ll see.

I’m hoping their shut down means there is something filling the gap. Hopefully it’s free.
