Donald Trump and other Republicans can not accurately be described as fascists. They believe in the principles of limited government, individual liberty, and economic freedom. While they may have some disagreements with fascist ideology, they fall well short of supporting its key tenants.
Donald Trump and other Republicans cannot accurately be described as fascists. Their policies may be harmful and conservative, but they do not reflect the same level of hatred and violence that fascism represents.
Fascism: a way of organizing a society in which a government ruled by a dictator controls the lives of the people and in which people are not allowed to disagree with the government. Does that sound like the Republican party?
Sounds to me like these phrases (semi-fascism??) lack any clear meaning and they're mostly just playing on people's emotions. There are valid criticisms to make about the Republican party and statements like these just feed the narrative that Democrats demonize the other side
Not even close. You can't just rule out half of the country that way, and I would say the same no matter which side of the aisle it were on. Saying that all people in ANY demographic are the same is just ridiculous.
I think that describing anyone as a fascist is a very slippery slope. People are always quick to denounce others who disagree with them but they don't even stick to the issues any more, they just say "yOu'Re A fAsCiSt" and it's just the grown-up equivalent of insulting someone's mother on the playground.
If someone has a valid point, whether or not you agree with them, you have a responsibility to hear them out. By making this remark, the leader of an entire country just dismissed anyone who voted against him (like me), and I'd expect something like that in some third-world countries sadly, but not in the USA. It makes me really sad.
