I’m applying for PR through my spouse and we met with an immigration attorney who said that it could take up to 14 months because they are behind schedule due to the pandemic, but that if you are applying from the US then it could be much faster (6-8 months).
They also said that if applying from within Canada, many people were not getting the work permit before getting their PR approved.
My posts above are for the PR process, not the spouse visa. I don’t really know anything about the spouse visa as I am able to visit Canada with an eTA
I would assume processing times to be on the higher end > 12 months.
IRCC is severely backed up in cases across all of their immigration streams... They have even announced that they won't hold any new FSW or CEC draws for the first half of the year due to the backlog of pending cases..
This is not looking good. Looks like to have an an ITA one must have a minimum score of 485~490 | it will be extremely competitive
