I worked on DK in the past. I don’t give a crud.
It’s the #1 addiction on college campuses. Not drugs. Not alcohol. Gambling apps.
But if you’re desperate for a job… grab it.

If you are an agency pitching this work it is giving off the vibe that you are desperate for money and not in a good place financially.
There are tons of pharma products out there with “may cause death by diarrhea” speedily read by the VO. Also tobacco accounts. Also QSR accounts dishing out slop foodstuffs ads to sugar addicts.
They all have real live humans working on them…
Ethics in advertising is just not a thing or course available at portfolios schools
I’d feel bad about it, but probably do it anyway. It’s probably a tough call for a lot of creatives. Gambling is so destructive. IMO, it’s worse than hard drug use or alcohol.
Because gambling addiction
seems more insidious, less well known, less socially acceptable, and less talked about. All this mainstream online gambling is fairly new and I think it sneaks up on people. If you’re shooting fent or slamming shots of liquor, the addiction potential shouldn’t be surprising. I don’t gamble though, so it could just be my own biases.
I worked at one in-house. I felt bad but not any worse than working on spirits or fast food.
I’m very conflicted. I like sports betting but it’s really bad for like 5% of gamblers
