Is Geneva or Zurich better for work and life in your opinion?
Spoiler: I speak a Romance language, so French would come to me easier, but I’m in Zurich and learning German

Lived in both, I don’t speak French nor German but Geneva wins in my opinion. People in the French part know how to enjoy life ;)

Objectively speaking you will have more opportunities for work and fun in Zurich. Taxes are also a bit lower.

I live in Geneva and I love it. I spend a few months per year in Zurich and i could see myself live there. The only downside is the culture but it’s super international, everyone speaks english so it would not be too difficult to find people I match more with.

If I were you without any existing network, I would go to Zurich.

Lived in both. Zurich has more public holidays and less taxes. Better train connections too. Also, seems to have more job opportunities. Would choose Zurich

Hi everyone! I’m a master’s student in Switzerland, and I’m currently abroad interning at Deloitte AKA working 14h a day for no pay 🙃 just to get a job back in Switzerland
I currently have a couple of “almost” job offers, and I’m going back soon and meeting the employers to talk about logistics including work permit.

Are there non-Europeans here that have gone through the work permit process in Switzerland that can answer a couple of questions?

I would really appreciate it.

Hello
I was hired by a SaaS company for 95,000 Fr as a Senior Full Stack Developer. I have 9 years of experience and I worked in multiple startups and technologies. I also have relatively better experience in NodeJS, React, SQL, Elasticsearch.
I wouldn't say I am great at solving coding challenges but I believe with some practice I can get better.
Do you think I can get a better salary with my situation? (Swiss Wage calculator estimates 8500+ Fr. per month for Zurich area).
