I am an Electrical Engineer with 9 years of experience, plus 3 years as a electrical technician at Dominion Power and only making $81,000/ year. Pretty low right? Hi all I need to vent. I’ve recently moved into a new apartment and from the beginning it was a nightmare (place wasn’t properly cleaned, person upstairs is ridiculously loud) I’m paying more than the average rent for the area (almost $3k after paying for parking and other fees) where average rent in this area is like 1800-2000 max. I slightly dropped my MacBook and apparently (slightly) damaged the keyboard and trackpad as per service Center. I don’t see any visible damage to the system but that’s what they say and are charging me about 28k for this even though my system is in warranty period (will complete a year in a few days). About 3 months ago I moved to a new team within my company. The new role came with a higher pay structure and a senior title. My company is currently giving out performance and salary evaluations for next year, and although I had a great evaluation, I received no salary adjustment because I was just “promoted”. While I’m happy with my new team, I can’t get over the fact that I’m not receiving any sort of salary adjustment. It just feels like I’m getting ripped off. Thoughts?
