Ex-Deloitter here. My goal is to finish working across ALL of the Big 4, and then post-MBA at ALL of the MBB. Will I be considered a flight risk or will I garner the Thanos level respect I deserve?

Then he’ll hit up all of FAANG or whatever it’ll be called then

so far I've been in 3/4 of the Big 4. only one left is PWC. but now I think it's a blessing, I can see a culture clash wouldn't fit w my working pattern.

if youre curious, i started with D then EY now KPMG. am in the best one so far, IMHO

Some might say you’re heading in wrong direction

PwC is Gryffindoor, Deloitte is slytherin. McK is straight up Voldemort with its ICE involvement. Rotating doesn’t help. Long term tenure partners tend to be the happiest at these firms.

FWIW- deloitte has a TON of work with ICE. Not just McK

Know someone that’s worked at 3. And he’s 3 years outta college. He did Audit -> Risk Assurance -> Advisory

I’ve done 2 at 2 years out both consulting🤷‍♀️

Is the goal here to become less electable than Anthony Weiner?

Not a flight risk, but we would pass on your resume bc that shows a lack of grit, loyalty, and willingness to build something.

Yea I wanna make sure I stay away from places like that. Always found the most loyal people the most underpaid and overworked.

like

Strange goal. I don’t see any advantage. Find a place where you enjoy working with your colleagues and build something. Your plan sounds questionable to me - while of course change is fine if you are not happy where you are.

Hi all!
Would love some insight on how you went from an HR assistant/coordinator to an HR Generalist. I’ve been in the HR world for 8 years, and only in the last 2-3 have I really done real HR work. The first company I was at didn’t have a solid HR team so I don’t really count that. I feel like I’m ready to take on more responsibility and learn more. And of course make more money.

I have looked into getting SHRM certification. But should I go back to school and get my masters in Hr?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
