Is it fair to have March Madness on in the office (pulled up on phone or something)? I see people doing it, and I’d like to, but I don’t have the confidence to do it 😂

If you've got enough organizational clout, yes. Sounds like they do. If you're not sure you do, it's because you don't. Stick to checking it every 8 seconds on your phone like the rest of us plebes.

I wouldn't do it but other people do. I am just too scared of the wrong person seeing and me getting in trouble. But hey, more power to those who do it.

Exactly!

I feel like it’s pretty common this time of year, especially if it’s just on your phone and you’re still getting your work done. A lot of people kind of casually keep an eye on it. That said, it probably depends on your office vibe, but you definitely wouldn’t be the only one doing it.

Ya I agree

Better safe than sorry

I had to eat a lot of class years when joining big law. I didn’t go T14, didn’t get a summer job in big law, had to work my way up and finally got here. I’m at a great firm doing the exact work I like doing. Now, all around me, colleagues who graduated with me or after me are getting promoted and I’m still a long ways away. They all deserve it. But I can’t help but feel jealous and angry about the uncertainty ahead of whether I’ll make it there and how long it will take. Can anyone relate?

Need career advice. Trying to break into a finance role, preferably an Analsyt role but I have no transferable experience. I worked as a mortgage loan officer (which is sales) for 2 years after college, but since mortgage is such a niche industry, no hard skills transfer and have no relevant undergrad internships unfortunately. I know I can essentially get any sales job I want in finance IE: financial advisor etc. but don’t want to be stuck in sales forever. Any advice?
