Is it normal in a 30-minute first round hiring manager interview for the hiring manager only to ask like 2-3 questions then turn it over to you to ask questions? I felt like it should have been more...l recently had a 30 minute interview where I was only asked 3 questions (I gave what I think were solid answers), but felt like I should have been asked more questions. I then had 3 good questions prepared for the HM, which felt much more conversational. Manager said I did great at the end….

The writing is very separate from anything I’ve worked on in the Big4 or other consulting firms.. more about cybersecurity overall and the future, regulation, etc.

Negotiation in new offer: I’m moving from fully remote to fully in office (with chance of hybrid later) offer for associate director in quality in pharma for 170k base, 18% bonus and 75k equity. I’ve asked for a sign on bonus as I’m not eligible for annual next year and will be missing my current jobs bonus. I should hear tomorrow (asking for 28k). Thoughts about the offer? Should I ask for more equity or is that standard? They’re public (currently ~$20)should I get the hybrid option in writing?

Offering advice to job seekers who go around recruiters and message hiring teams, execs, etc. You are putting the Recruiters job in danger. If a Recruiter declines you or doesn’t choose to reach out, it is because the hiring team declined you, or you don’t have the experience. You will most likely not be considered for future roles because of this. When I see people giving advice to reach outside the Recruiter, it’s bad advice. Very rare is this a good idea.
