Is it normal to always feel worried about getting fired? I want to make partner at the firm I am at and would hate to be pushed out.

I worried all the time too. On a Friday at 2pm I got asked to join a meeting with management and my first thoughts were how they couldn’t fire me because I was in the middle of a big brief. Turned out that’s the meeting where they let me know I made partner.
Try to go easy on yourself and lean into a mentor at your firm if you can

Worry is like paying on a debt that you may never owe. Try to find ways to manage your anxiety and check your thoughts. Acknowledge your worries but also acknowledge that you have your job in this moment and haven’t been fired. All you can do is your best.

I've been at this firm for almost 10 years. But I'm in an unusual position where I do interpleaders which don't bring in a lot of money and otherwise do semi-admin work. So I am constantly worried that they're going to decide that I'm not contributing enough. Especially when I get called in for a unanticipated meeting!!!!!

I spent a lot of years anxious about this. Therapy helped a lot, and having a good financial cushion helped. I’m 7 years in at my firm at this point and no longer really worry about it. “Normal” is subjective but lots of people think about it - that being said, if it’s really making you miserable there is help out there.

I don’t know if it’s normal, but I am constantly worried about it. My firm doesn’t have a lot of female partners so it can feel like the odds are against it.

McKinsey & Company Hi everyone. Hope all is well.

Recently took the McKinsey & Company game (not sure if I have an interview yet but preparing nonetheless). It’s an entry level business analyst position and an entry level digital position and was wondering if anyone wanted to case prep with me. I’m willing to work on anyones time zone. (I’m located in Sydney, Australia).

How do you deal with a nosy coworker ? There’s a Product Owner on my team that is always asking details about what I’m doing, who I’m speaking to and why. Today I organized a meeting with a fellow PMM and she invited him for a detail and he insisted in staying for the whole meeting. Don’t wanna be rude but I’m tired of this.

Companies like Deloitte, futurebridge, pwc, ey research, etc are offering good packages. Some are offering work from home and some are asking to relocate.

Please don't hesitate to relocate. Interviews are annoying but trust me be positive. Don't choose convenience over carrier. It's high time and grab as much you can. Situations are already worsening elsewhere. Grab as much as you can before the wave hits india.

Hope you get selected in the right one

How do you best leverage a job offer when you don’t want to leave? In the running for a VP job (higher level than now) that pays $70k higher than what I currently make. I want to ask for more money, but don’t want them to see me as a flight risk or that I am not loyal anymore. Or my bigger fear is they’ll say they cannot offer me any more and then I feel like I have egg on my face. Any tips for delicately balancing this?
