You do not need a degree to be a PM. Learn the tools, methodologies and go for an industry that interests you.
Seriously, you don’t need to sit for the certifications but at least read up and use the free resources available online.
Tech is the move if yo want stay a PM long term.

Tech PM’s with AI are getting hired. Even if you have some AI training.
Learn the basics of JIRA or apps like that. Larger ad agencies project manage with a software developer mindset and rely on ticketing systems and projection systems. It’ll also help you if you want to venture out of advertising ever.
I was a PM in the Info Management sector and then joined a creative agency. After about 3 years there I was just laid off. I don't know the answer to your question yet but I'm in the process of finding out!

Creative agency’s lay off quickly unfortunately. Target big companies or worldwide like finance or healthcare where they have tons of PMs. FTE & contract.
Yes, I’ve been an ad agency PM for 12 years, while I was fortunate to avoid layoffs for the first part of my career (probably due to lower salary) , I’ve now been laid off twice in 4.5 years.
My experience has been the PMs get hit first as they think the responsibilities can be covered by Account.

Unless you’re on the client side. Account ppl are easily replaced.
