I have some good ex colleagues who moved over there and also looked up on LinkedIn and see lots of seemingly smart and accomplished people in their D&A team in the UK.
I'll ask my ex colleagues too, but wanted to see if people here have any opinion or information on this too.

Be 100% sure you want to do strategy work. I’ve done both ops and now mainly strategy (ODD/CDD). Strategy work is the least fulfilling for me personally.
I work for a boutique that is run by an ex strategist. He somewhere along the line realised the real money was in the operational delivery. We have a few good clients that are highly acquisitive and as such end up doing the strategic work before anything else. It’s a slog and it’s very boring for me personally.

i think it’s more feasible to specialise and pivot to the relevant firm. eg Oliver Wyman for financial services, risk, and operational transformation; Kearney if you’re int operations, procurement, supply chain; AlixPartners for those turnaround, restructuring, performance improvement work; and FTI Consulting if restructuring, disputes, and transformation in stressed environments is your thing.

i think it’ll come down to how you position it and what experience you actually have. i’ve see epm/fp&a who only do forecasting accuracy type stuff and others that do system led rollout type activities for epm.
T2 don’t require pure strategy work but if you haven’t done it, might be good to know what you’re getting into. lots of people don’t realise how much of a grind it is.
absolutely feasible but recognise you might need to accept a demotion to have a chance (given premium for strategy work this won't be a paycut fortunately).
If you've got five years experience in common or garden management consulting you are a strong candidate for off-cycle hiring across MBB at the experienced grad/one promotion up level.
