Is it too late to start working as a copywriter? I ask this in relation to the massive growth in AI assistants and chatbots that can do a lot of the heavy lifting for writing tasks. Is the demand still out there, or is it a foolish career move right now?

I think there will always be roles for talented copywriters. Marginal talent may be sidelined for AI slop solutions, but I'm skeptical of how widespread that will be. It's always good to remember that LLMs are trained on scraping the web, so they're essentially looking backward. They can mimic things, but they can't create, and a strong creative voice will always be better.

This is a great point!

It’s not too late, but it is different game now. The generic, formulaic copy is exactly what AI is eating, while demand is shifting toward people who can use AI as a tool and still bring strategy, voice, insight, and original thinking. If you’re willing to learn positioning, research, messaging, and how to brief and edit AI instead of competing with it, copywriting can still be a smart move.

My job has been trying to see if they can replace me with AI, so far, the AIs are not as good as the sales reps say they will be.

Hey FishBowl Friends, so I’m currently trying to break into tech sales/FinTech and I feel that due to my previous work history, I might not look like the ideal candidate on paper but I’m an extremely fast learner and very coachable. I’ve been a manger at a gym, got my degree in finance, worked as a client advisor at a top 3 auto dealer in the nation and now I’m a project manager at a solar company. I really want something that’s remote and steady, any recommendations on how to spruce myself up?

When she attended she said that there was no point of responding my email as we are meeting anyway. Later on I had 2nd interview with the hiring manager. After 45 minutes she said they will let me know...

2 months later and I am still waiting...

I had a job interview for a role that I really want. The hiring manager scheduled me for an interview and did not show up. Emailed me an hour later stating that he got super busy and couldn’t attend, and would like to reschedule. My company blames my generation for not being able to hire everyday. “You guys don’t want to work” coming from some overweight, racist, old coaster. I’ve barely taken any days off this year and pick up “skeleton crew” days any chance I get. I was able to work out a deal with my company before I came because of prior experience luckily, but they offer a terrible base salary and sham of a commission structure to new hires + no remote. Then sit here and can’t figure out why…
