Got a ticket for a rolling stop vs. full stop.

Can I start January over?

Looking to pivot into healthcare consulting. I come from a MHA background with a two year Administrative Fellowship following it. Any experience breaking into one of the top consulting firms with this type of background?

Do you always feel tired? How do you have energy for anything with this amount of work.

Currently 25 years old.
Goals:
* Own a home in a HCOL
* 2 kids (eventually)
* Retire at 50 on $125k/year.

Envelope math:
* $125k/year would require an investment portfolio of ~$3M.
* Targeting a $2M home (split with partner)
* 2 kids - $1M to raise both (including college fund, split with partner)
* $500K buffer for unexpected expenses
* 33% tax

Therefore, 6.5-7M retirement savings needed. To hit this (assuming 6% return after inflation), I’d need to save ~$110k/year.

How does this sound?

From consulting to investing / lending - anyone has guidance on how to make the move? I’m a consulting manager with finance experience pre-MBA. Thinking about pivoting into investing / lending but struggle to find an angle - assumed that it would be hard to break into investing but lending would be great (all the way from corporate banking to mezz). Any guidance on seeking relevant experience while in consulting?

Do you think partners in law firms have too much power and autonomy? eg. the power to refuse leave, to do your annual appraisal, to make you work while on leave, to overwork people, to manage the team on their on terms etc. Is this power bad or good for the firm and the team overall?

Obviously many of us get paid very well and there is an expectation with work demands for being paid that high. But what’s too much? How do you set a limit to preserve your mental health? I find myself guilty for taking time to decompress but I know I come back to work refocused after I do it.

Do permanent WFH companies has job security.? If yes to which extent.?

I’m sure others have considered this, I really feel burned out on my specific subspecialty. For the most part I do interventional pain management. Unfortunately was dragged into an audit despite the fact I don’t work in audit. Why does audit RM say yeah your hours will be 50 hours/week when you’ll have to work way more to do the audit. Seems very dumb - if you have work do it, if not don’t work…

When you budget for your engagements, what percentage of staff time is your budgeted manager time? I have always heard manager time should be about 50% of staff time but now leadership is pushing back. I have found the 50% to reflect reality. Managers don't reperform the work but have to do a detailed review. Thoughts?

So my VP at my previous company felt bad and refused to speak to me or attend my farewell after my resignation.
