Hi fishes,
I am planning a switch so was going through some salary data for a software engineer. My ex-senior manager recommended me a website: Growceed.com which helped me a lot in getting clarification about a lot of things but I am in doubt whether the average salaries of software engineer mentioned on Growceed.com really that much in top MNC companies.

Fidelity Investments I joined FIL on 08th August 2022 and hence was eligible for appraisal but even after a good feedback, I was told that there is no increment in salary as well as bonus because of "Too Soon To Decide" rating. And this is being followed not just in our team but in whole FIL. This is the first time I am hearing such kind of thing and didn't found any thing like this on "HR Hub". So, if anyone of you know about this or have received similar gyan from Manager, please share your experience. Fidelity In

Not an out loud policy where I’m at, but you can very clearly tell who is tapped early on versus those of us not deemed worthy. That person will probably have a lot of talks, goals to achieve. No idea if it looks the same to everyone. That’s just my experience.
At my company, the “High-Potential” tag isn’t just a title, it’s a fast track with tailored development plans, mentorship, and early access to big projects. Career-wise, it means promotions can come quicker, but compensation adjustments still follow performance reviews. It’s less about perks and more about being groomed for leadership, though that spotlight can be a double-edged sword too.
