I’ve been at my company for 8 months. I just found out another designer who has been here for several years gets an annual bonus at the end of the fiscal year. I have never been told about a bonus and haven’t gotten one yet for the previous fiscal year that ended In July. Should I have been told I get a bonus when I signed on or are they typically a surprise?

Hi! I have 9yoe in startup, hyper growth environments. I have a strong customer Quality Assurance process improvement background. I want to shift into becoming more of an IC vs people manager.
