I started a data course, very intensive. The try to turn us into data analysts. But really, i do want to continue in Marketing, I thought of this like something that would complement my marketing experience but is so hard to find a job in Marketing. It's all so confusing.
Pro
I’d say I’m less active in true upskilling and more tinkering using ai and experimenting and looking at things that companies and clients won’t let me use for actual work. So much cool shite out there worth playing around with and checking out
Willpower is the issue - I have time and energy, but I’d rather decompress. Takes something breaking and some level of urgency sometimes for me to consider upskilling - but I think that’s the American/corporate way nowadays.
Instead of “I need to reinvent myself,” pick one tiny, specific lane (e.g., master one AI tool for copy, or learn basic analytics/SQL) and give it 30–60 minutes a week. Consistency beats intensity here, and it stops the spiral of “I should be doing everything.”
