It's a slow time of year at work for me. Thanks, holidays! While I'm appreciating the time to relax a bit, I've caught up on my back log of everything that needed to be done. My execs are all on PTO for the next 2 weeks so work coming in will be light. I plan on using some of my remaining sick time and taking it easy, but I not the type of person who can kill the hours I am on the clock and do nothing. I've got some LinkedIn learnings saved to go through. But what else can I do? Any suggestions?

Help,I started a new career n the events industry and I think I have to quit! The person I report to is so disorganized and there are no other managers in the office to direct day to day operations of our department. On day 2 I was asked to go to a job site and perform a 12 hour day without any training, safety equipment or tools. On day 3 I was asked back to site to do general labor! I ended cutting my hand on an exacto knife and there was no first aid! Is this normal?

I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center).
