What I’m trying to remind myself is that rejection doesn’t mean I’m not good enough. Sometimes it’s just a matter of timing or needing to take a different approach. The hard part is staying consistent, taking feedback, and continuing to push forward even when it feels like you’re stuck in one place.
If you’re feeling this way too, you’re not alone. These moments don’t last forever. Keep showing up. Things have a way of falling into place when you least expect it.
Sounds so woo woo but I can relate to this. So many times it just felt like nah I don’t know if I can but I just tried to do the best I could in the given situation, somehow it’s been working. And yes, it did feel like I was stuck in one place and not growing but I learnt shit loads without even realizing.
I think you need to look at the big picture too. Some times it’s luck. Some times it’s inherent skill. But also how much you sacrificed. I’ve seen people give up marriages to get ahead. Work crazy hours. Live and breathe advertising. Personally I’ve spent 10+ years of schooling, moved to 4 different cities, moving 5 times and essentially burned up my time to have a family.
Watch the Martha Stuart documentary. Or the Jordan one. Tom Brady. All are extremely successful. All are completely nuts and have no life outside their passion.
That is also something to be taken into consideration. Perspective. It is easy sometimes to see what could have happened and not see what is happening and value that.
Comparison is the thief of joy.
So you’re telling me the feeling never goes away? 😔
It mostly doesn’t, but I guess that’s what keeps us growing and striving for more.
