That is very appropriate to ask. Don't even waste your time if it doesn't meet your expectations, especially if they want you to spend your money on an interview smh
I think they should be more concerned about wasting your time and losing you. You got an interview for a reason and have more power than you know!

They're just trying to see if your willing to risk your own cash incase u may not like what u hear after the interview and want to leave
How is it working for Amerprise? I applied for a role out of the Charlotte office
Every department handles things differently. I love my boss and coworkers, for the most part. Benefits are awesome. Training is not great. But that depends on each department. The Charlotte location is new - I really have no idea how they work. But - Best of luck!
I would definitely inquire about the salary before agreeing to that interview, under those circumstances.
