Does PwC provides joining bonus
I’m 26 weeks pregnant and trying to figure out my leave. I live in NJ and work at PwC, any fishes know the policy for NJ and PwC? The leave center has not been much help and I want to plan NOW not like 60 days before. I was told NJ gets two weeks before due date and PwC gives you two weeks as well.

Standard operating procedure. If you refuse, you make it easy for them to weed you out.
I've been in this industry for 15 years and every single job I interviewed for at every level had some sort of skills assessment involved (writing exercise, presentation, etc.). I've also been on the other side of the hiring table.
Is it annoying and time-consuming? Yes. Are some companies unethical and using it as a way to get free work? Also yes. But most are genuinely trying to figure out if you can actually do all the things you say you can do.
(And who among us has not experienced the hire who interviewed spectacularly, but then it turned out they were just very good at taking credit for others' work while doing nothing of substance themselves?)
I’ve always had to do a writing assignment or a strategic plan going back 20yrs and I’ve asked candidates for them as well. Even at senior levels. Never look at it as unpaid work - more a skills test. Don’t think this is new or unusual. Also agree it’s going away with AI.
I’ve actually had the opposite experience recently. For the last 15 years of my career I’ve always been asked to do unpaid labor during the interview process. Now with ChatGPT, that’s completely gone away.
Yes! I only interviewed for a couple of jobs recently, and this happened to me, too. I have a portfolio, and I have a proven track record of what I’ve done. There is no reason for me to provide you with unpaid work that accomplishes the same.
So you want a job in writing comms but aren’t willing to prove that you can?
that was my thought. Maybe they would’ve been interviewing for two had they done writing samples.
The assignment is the last step before the offer. Why go through the process endless rounds most companies demand now and then bail over a writing assignment?
Yes and it was for a County job. I failed because they gave me a PC - I am a Mac user...
I interviewed for one role they asked me to do a fairly extensive project. I just got it, it’s a step up to VP for fortune 100 company. It was worth it.
Very common and tbh I prefer it. It’s the fairest part of the recruitment process nowadays. Gives you a chance to actually showcase your skills instead of being assessed based on things you have done in the past, some of which may not even be relevant.
