I've been in sales for 3 years, and have never missed quota (avg 120%). But... I sell to small businesses, so my deals are typically $5-10K. I'm hoping to level up my career, but worried enterprise companies won't take me seriously. What matters more to recruiters - hitting numbers or the size of deals you've closed?

Big companies are segmented by market typically. I suggest that you target roles thst sell to small and mid-market customers. Success with the smaller customers better positions you to move to selling to Enterprise accounts inside and outside of that bigger name. This happens quite a lot actually.

You’re concerned with the wrong persons opinion. Recruiters do not hire people.

It sounds like you have a ton of great experience. Have you thought about reaching out to a recruiter and seeing if they can help you find a couple roles? That can be a good way to gauge interest.

Yes just start applying to SMB roles at tech companies for a stay. I

Just because its a larger role doesn't mean it pays more. Depends on the company plan

I feel like your consistency is the real selling point here. Enterprise hiring managers care about whether you can run a repeatable sales process, not just about the deal ticket. If you can explain how you grew small deals and kept hitting 120 percent, that translates better than people think.

I would still apply upmarket. Consistent performance proves discipline that enterprise teams value

What's the hiring process like for a littler case smart attorney? Is it easier to get a case smart position compared to an associate position? Not that I want to be an associate there, but just trying to see if I have a solid chance.

So I say this with complete humility and an understanding that this is a fortunate-ish situation to be in. I’m in a position where I am tied to nothing, I have no children, spouse, or house. My job, which I’ve loved until some recent significant leadership changes, is sucking the life out of me and I think it may be time for a change. Because I am able to “pick up and go” I’m open to opportunities and locations. I’ve never worked with a recruiter but was hoping I could get some recommendations!
