What are some games I can play with my team? We are spread out all over the US, would love to get my gang together virtually for happy hour and games. Any suggestions?
Has anyone seen or discussed this Petition for SHRM must support Black Lives Matter & the LGBTQ community? I’ve grown increasingly concerned and disappointed in SHRM’s lack of vocal support for employment protections for LGBTQ+ and black and brown workers, especially as a black woman in HR. It seems like SHRM is overly focused on what is absolutely “legal” and not what is right. I’m of the opinion HR professionals must not only be “legal” but have a relevant and compassionate stance

Are you or have you been the sole HR person at the company? What are the pros & cons? I haven’t been, but a recruiter reached out with an opportunity to be one. They currently use the parent company’s HR but are buying themselves out to be a stand alone firm. TIA!
What training or guidance are you giving managers at your firms about managing hybrid teams? There is a lot out there on remote teams, but a lot of us are going back three days a week which means people at home and people in the room. Any tips to pass on?
First time founder - would you recommend square, stripe or something else for purchases between $150-$10k or what alternatively?
Just signed a new employment contract! Any tips for coming up with a good 90 day gameplan? There's nothing like new sales guy energy. The less you know the easier it is I've always found. Workday HELP! I need an amazing consultant or contact who can help us fix our workday woes. I’m not in charge of workday but I’m determined to fix it. We have massive issues with the complexity and ever changing security/permissions/workflows implemented by our system analysts. Every couple of months it changes and we all have to relearn simple tasks again. The analysts try to blame the users but I know it’s more than that.
To those who have several years of experience ion TA: Do you think staying in the campus recruiting space limits you? Should one try to get exposure to other HR areas for the long run?
I’m looking for a screening tool that will assess a candidate’s proficiency with MS-Teams. Would anyone know if there is such a thing that exists?
You’re constantly showing up for everyone else, but who’s showing up for you? I started an initiative to coach HR/people leaders because I know what it’s like to be doing all the things for everyone else with little support or focus on your own well-being, growth and development. It’s a lonely game! I’d be delighted to create the space to make you a priority. Would love to offer a free session, or simply connect: https://www.chrisrollins.me/peopleleaders.
How long does it take to get over ptsd from being in a toxic micromanaging environment? I was a top biller and top manager at a large staffing company for five years and was treated like a child. The place was crazy. Six months into my new role I’m still scared to request PTO or afraid that my boss would be mad if she found that I took an afternoon break to walk my dog.
How long, on average, did it take you to study before you could pass the PHR/SPHR exam? Did you think it was worth it?
Is there a way to verify an email address without sending emails? I need to verify A TON of emails, but don’t need to actually send them emails myself.
I am struggling with the fact that I have 13 years of HR experience in one capacity or another, along with a bachelors degree and my PHR designation yet companies say “I’m not qualified or they ghost me when I apply for HR openings. I am experienced in all aspects of HR. How are people with little to no experience coming right out of college obtaining higher level roles than I have currently? It makes my passion for the field just go away.
6 months in as an analyst and wanting to leave at the one year mark. When do I start looking for the next role? Also, will I still only be considered for entry level? Hoping to exit to healthcare
A more specific follow up from earlier post. And thanks to everyone. I am going to be starting a specialty consulting business with a colleague and will immediately hire one salaried employee. We will have enough revenue and want to offer full benefits and 401k, for owners also. I talked to TriNet (suggested here as a good PEO) but they need a minimum of 5 employees. I would like to have someone manage payroll, benefits, and 401k. Any other suggestions?

What companies are hiring Life Sciences Consultants? I saw many positions open prior to Covid-19, but not seeing too many openings as of today. Would you recommend holding off on the job hunt? Thanks!
I joined this forum so excited about my new job at BCG which will start in September, but now I’m kind of bummed hearing all the negativity you can find in some posts here about consulting 🤣 so, serious question: is it really as bad as some say it is? Or working at an MBB for some time is actually a really good life/career choice?
How would I go about getting an adderall script? I was diagnosed with ADHD in the 2nd grade however my parents took me off the pills due to weight loss and change in mood. Recently since WFH I’ve been feeling a surge in distraction and inability to focus at tasks at hand. Through friends of friends, I’ve had Adderall a few times and I’ve felt the focus I need to get through my work. I would be interested in obtaining a script; anyone here in NYC know of doctors that could diagnose/prescribe me?
Anyone know a good place for eye check up in Manhattan or Queens and can share their recent experience (particularly during covid)?
Alright crew, I need some advice. I’m currently in negotiations to possibly leave my firm (Merrill Lynch) and work for an RIA. I will be given a salary to service some of their current clients and then a split for clients I bring in. They will also put prospects in front of me and I will own my own book. Should I do it? I’m making a nice salary in the FADP program but I know that won’t last forever.
