I’ve been working in operations for two years and I’m trying to make the jump to the trading desk. I’ve been taking all the internal networking meetings and staying late to learn the systems, but my manager won't even support my internal transfer. He says I’m too valuable where I am, which feels like a polite way of saying I’m stuck. Should I keep fighting the internal battle, or is it easier to just quit and apply elsewhere?

Can someone tell me how many days does it take for the initial screening to happen after applying.

Getting paid 85k base with 40k in bonus plus about 35k~ in OT.

Money isn’t everything but in my late 20s it feels like the only thing important right now.

WLB is next to zero as 60hr weeks are the minimum as of late. Management feels like they are trying to push a few of us out. Was told not to expect much come year end for comp. Any suggestions on finding a new role/pay expectations?

There is this big bank where I'd love to work at, and after several interviews for various positions they end up promoting someone from within, even thou I understand it and think it’s good they promote their people, it left me feeling like I'm just being used to comply with the process.
