I recently learned that we can get our PPF limit from 1.5Lakh per year increased and so does it increase in 80C. Is that true? And if yes, how can it be done?

Has anyone successfully negotiated a title? I was looking for Senior Manager positions but applied for some Mgr positions too. I’m up for promo next year at my current job as well. The current industry offer meets my comp expectation but planning to see if they would bring me in as a senior manager. There isn’t a set hierarchy for the team as of right now as they are building the team and I’d be reporting to a senior executive. Any talking points/tips that might help me negotiate?

Recently, I’ve been working with a new team and couldn’t be happier with the work environment we’ve created even being short staffed. I can’t help but reflect on my past team structures I’ve had at past agencies.. Let’s say they make work from home permanent, what will they do about pay structure across areas where there are different cost of livings? Let’s say you are hired out of New York as the same level as someone in Houston? Will the Houston employees get bumped up or NY employees get bumped down over time? Looks like the real winners here may be those in high paying areas such as New York and San Francisco. They can move to areas now with low cost of livings and make a killing! Thoughts?

Considering buying a home for the first time. Do I need to stop applying for credit cards 120 days out from the mortgage application (or more)? I spoke with a local mortgage broker and he told me I don't need to stop applying but I don't think he understands credit card travel hacking. I don't want to shoot myself in the foot. I have a credit score in the 800s, no debt, will have a small down payment.

Motivation especially low today, horrible start to the week

Dropped MBB for a different path?! Junior at UNC and was aiming to work at the intersection of equity and business. My passion for consulting died after McKinsey and Bain recruiting processes. Denied my offers and pivoted to working in the tech for social impact space instead. Here I could pitch partnerships and non profit work while still working at a prestigious tech firm. Consulting seemed so meaningless and just glorified intern work. Did I make the right choice?

My employer assigned a tax consulting company in India to support me in filing tax, somehow the tax consulting firm found that bank account via AIS document (not sure how they get it in that doc), as they found some interest credited for that saving account. Will I be in trouble? will I have to pay penalty :(?

Can we show unequal rent split up between husband & wife for HRA?
Let's say we pay 20k in rent. I want to show that I pay 15k and wife can show 5k. Is this sort of break up possible without explicitly mentioning it in the rent agreement?

My CTC will be
Basic 13LPA
FB 7 LPA
Total fix pay - 20 LPA

80c - 1.5 LPA
HRA 3 LPA

Do you submit fake rental receipts and owner pan card detail for HRA? Is it normal ? I see most people does in my team. They submit parents or spouse pan card number as owner pan card number to get HRA. Is it same everywhere?

For rent paid below 1 lakh there is no need to submit landlord's PAN. I have calculated based on my HRA and if I show rent paid as around 96k my tax refund will be around 13k.

However there is no rent agreement or rent receipts.

Will it be a problem later on if I show this in my ITR?
