I switched to days and it changed my life... better sleep, better health, and time for people I care about. I still miss the buzz sometimes, but the tradeoff was worth it.
I think it depends on what opportunities you have to switch to a day job. The restaurant industry is tough. I wish people would recognize how much of a sacrifice it is to not be able to have a day off when everyone else does…I’d definitely do a 9-5 if I had a chance…
I’ve worked nights a few times over the years, and those let's grab dinner texts turned into breakfast or brunch. You make the best of it, and I did start to even enjoy working later and getting out early in the day, but it was nice to go back to ‘normal’ hours too.
