Absolutely. I'm not wasting time if there is no match. I've never heard of a company doing that, but gives me ick vibes and likely will be really low.
Agree with DLS1. Don’t waste your time. You’ve given enough of it now to reasonably ask what the range is. And don’t let them weasel out of answering when you do ask, either.
Have you asked for a range? Have they asked you what your comp requirements are?
When a job is opened with finance, the salary range is included. They know what it is and you can ask. I actually discuss salary range during my call with the company recruiter. No point going through all those hoops without knowing what the job pays.
Run bro.
They are telling you how much transparency is expected of you.
They could not give a fuck if it grew wings made from transparency legislation and flew you to the accounting department and opened the spreadsheet with the "budget" they have allocated for your role.
Find the same job posted in NY. Range should be on the posting by law. Then reduce a bit for a lower COL state. Otherwise press the recruiter on it. Tell them you need X to consider the job and see if they tell you where in other range it is.
If it’s any competent recruiter they know this is an issue and I’m sure it’s a point of contention for many others. I bet this is something their leadership is actively pushing against and to change. If not then 100% remove yourself from process.
Not practicing what you preach is usually something people find out after they start. If it’s during an interview process the flag doesn’t get any more red!
This is a scam, would recommend not engaging with any of their "representatives".
Why the hell are they making you go through 5 rounds of interviews? More than three is a waste of your time and a sign they're dragging their feet, which is bad enough.
Tell them that you're interviewing and having discussions elsewhere, and if they haven't decided to bring you on by a specific date, you'll withdraw from the process. That should speed things up a bit.
Are these quick rounds or do you have to invest a lot? Maybe they just want to see if it’s a good fit and that you’re not just in it for the money?
That’s a huge red flag. If you haven’t asked, ask. If they won’t share, move on.
Don’t even apply to jobs with no salary posted. It’s a waste of time.
well it would be appreciated to have an idea as to how much one should expect, that would make it easier to make a decision if you on board or not.
