Don’t try to negotiate one item at a time (salary, bonus, perks). Typically they only have a few levers they can pull, better to talk about the total comp package
I frame it in Total Comp. Besides, ain’t the job all about being an effective negotiator?
From recent experience — use data, including current or projected comp, comp packages from other offers or potential offers, etc. Make sure your tone is reasonable and constructive, so they know you’re trying to get to a “yes” rather than just jerking them around

With any negotiation lead with enthusiasm about the firm and the work you’d get to do there. The hiring partners and firm management want people who are excited to grow the firm, so even though we’re all employed to make money, make sure they feel like you’re not just looking to collect a paycheck. This often helps grease the wheels. Good luck!
Read the room, or the interviews and conversations leading up to it. Different strategies and tactics do best in certain situations. Has a lot to do with the firm, too.
