Can ibm pay 28.5 ctc under 7B band?
UBS If I had to move within the company to a different location , how does it work? For example if I move from low cost of living area to high cost of living area does the company re-evaluate the base salary within USA? Or do they come back and mention its your family requirement since your partner is located and you are moving ?Suggestions or experiences any !

Same. I like it and I counter with at what level are you planning to bring me in and whats the payband like for that title?
It’s actually illegal in some states now. New York for example, they are not allowed to ask current salary - for the exact reason you called out.

Really, there is no point in asking what someone’s current salary is. Your salary is based on your background and the roles and responsibilities you’re performing for your current organization.
Firms know their salary bands/ranges they are willing to hire a candidate. Seeing if a candidates salary range expectations falls within the organizations range is a better conversation.
Personally, I haven’t had someone ask me what my current salary has been for almost 10 years. More importantly, it’s nobody’s business what my current salary is. If someone asked me today, I would deflect and give them my salary range expectation.
That's really lucky! I have been asked during every screening call of my career til now (short lived but still (2012-2017).

Yeah nowadays I just throw out absurd expectation numbers like $1m for 1 YOE
That’s because they can get your current salary information without asking you for it directly. Equifax - the work number, it’s what KPMG uses. Opt out immediately as your current job and compensation info is obtainable.

Yes agree, but I don't think recruiters are looking up your salary on screening calls?
