Hi Guys,
I have joined Ofss 1 week back and on second day itself I was allocated to project and onboarding WIP I received mail stating to report back to office 3 days per week under hybrid work model policy. Is this compulsory my base location is 2600 km from my current location as I am joining the citi project its seems difficult for me to grasp things though I have only 1 yr of prior exp by I think my team is expecting a lot so moving to new city and learning at same time is not possible .
And the rest is history 😅

How did you find this data? Is it reliable?
If true then show proof and ask for more - very risky imo but maybe a last ditch effort if you don’t see the value in working there.
Otherwise I am sure their HR and benefits teams are aware of this and are working on closing the gap - this might be too hopeful but ideally it’s true and you can ask for a higher offer and it will be met with an approval.
If there is a comp team and a competent hr practice equity among all employees regardless of gender should be a priority. If they are working on old data or are someone unaware this will bring it to light and start to adjust with new hires.
Get evidence of what the market is saying. Know your worth and add tax.
Figure out what is fair for the role based on market research and what you’d expect to make in it. I would just bring it up like that. Probably wouldn’t bring up the pay gap, but something to keep your eye on!
I guess whatever they offer you counter at 40% more than work your way down to 30%.
If done correctly, asking questions is not threatening. I would ask how they arrived at the rate they offered you. If they ask, why or are confused, I would just tell them that from your research you are aware that market rate for this position is XX to XX dollars per hour. For there to be such a significant discrepancy between the market rate and your offer, you are trying to figure out where the disconnect is.
