Companies do unethical things to workers all the time and they really don't mind. You act as if companies always look out for worker's interests.
People gotta eat.
I am in complete support of doing that if need be. Don't agree on the unethical part because companies seem to have complete justification for laying off employees on their whim. No problem in workers reciprocating.
Imagine telling your kids, 'sorry there's no food, but we don't want to overwork the managers' 🤣
With companies discriminating against candidates because they don’t have a referral, didn’t graduate from an Ivy or elite college, income level (they can guess by county), etc it’s more concerning they’re making it harder for them than candidates settling for less. If businesses truly care they would get rid of unnecessary obstacles and bias
Fair work for fair pay. What's unethical about that?
If the company wants to save money on having too hire again maybe they shouldn't position themselves as the low paying option.
Pay them well and they'll stay. 🤷🏽♂️
You get what you pay for!
The bills don’t pay themself lol would you rather be unemployed, not knowing when your next opportunity/paycheck is or take something in the meantime in order to generate income, while looking for something that aligns? It’s easy to judge, but this is all dependent on certain situations and financial circumstances
I took a job once that the recruiter told me quite flatly that I was overqualified and that it was a backward step. The grocery store did not care and either did my belly. I truly started over at the bottom of that organization. I had no intention of staying around, and I actively searched for new opportunities. Never felt bad one bit. Fortunately, I did not have to leave the organization and, within ten months, worked from the bottom to a much better place.
I’m doing that right now. Producer for a small production. Timeline is only 3 months and ends soon. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with smaller jobs perhaps just while another project rolls in. Are you concerned more of the logistical nightmare for managers in the future?
We all gotta do what we gotta do to survive. Sometimes taking a "placeholder" position is the only way to keep the lights on and avoid eating ramen for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
