To walk away from any job in this economy is a very risky move. So to get there you'd have to be at the point of absolute despair. Or, you'd have a plan and an emergency fund that could keep you afloat for a while. Be very cautious, finding a new job may not be fast or easy.
I would advise you have something ready before leaving. Stepping onto the dock from the boat, not jumping into the water. I'm sorry you are feeling this way. I was there, 13 years ago working for "the man" and being a W2 employee. No time and not enough money.
We have people come here to work since they are not tied to any one carrier. We are brokers so we have access to over 40 insurance companies to help our clients. My husband and I own our agency - we've been doing this for over 10 years. The difference is you make commission here and you have no cap on how much you can make. You work from home, remote and set your own schedule.
We’ve all been there at some point and at one time it was do-able. In today’s world I would not be walking out unless I have something else lined up and the offer letter and background check are complete. You’ll eat thru any savings you have pretty quickly and you won’t be collecting unemployment or getting any sort of severance if you walk out.
I just did this. do I regret it yes part of me does but when I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown I chose to walk, at that place I was hired to do a specific job, they would not let me do anything except answer phones, I was told to transfer all calls to the sales people no matter what, I would transfer the calls and then would get yelled at for not helping the customers so the next call I would help the customer then get yelled at for not transferring the call. I had a conversation with the owner to which she then told me I asked to many questions and was making things to difficult for the sales team, and I should stop asking them if they needed anything, so I just said okay. we discussed some other issues and she then said well maybe if you would more questions you would know what to do and what they wanted, stop sitting at your desk doing nothing, I said well you just told me I ask to many questions which is it and she said well I see we are going to have nothing but problems here aren't we.
