I had a good interview with a healthcare services company. Working azure landing zones. Next thing i hear from the recruiter. They are working with the client reassess their scope of work and end goal. So not adding the role.
👋 Hi! I’m a Resume Consultant specializing in professional formatting and ATS optimization. Many job seekers apply to jobs but don’t hear back, often the issue is your resume, not your experience. I’m offering a free resume review to help ensure your resume is recruiter-friendly and ATS-compliant. Drop a comment or DM me if you’d like support, happy to help anyone in this community! 😊
Wait.. let me understand. They told you that you were one of the top 2, then silence? Did you follow up before the automatic email? That's strange, but it can happen. I am sure you will find better things for you. This never occurred to me like that, but I don't like waiting around. I apply for and interview until I get a concrete job offer. My mentor always says: If you want something, don't stop until you have it.
Pro
Yes I had followed up to confirm I was very interested in the position, and excited to talk to more people on the team.
I haven't had that happen to me, but I've heard of similar scenarios. I've also heard of things like that happening recently as companies decide they simply can't hire anyone. A lot of organizations can't plan properly around the tariffs as they don't know what they'll be paying for materials. So they're cutting back wherever they can, and that's put a stop to hiring, hence the crashing job market.
Pro
Yes very true, in fact at this place there was a hiring freeze since the tariff uncertainty save for this 1 position.

This is very common. I would have the following perspective: you dodged a bullet because you were able to avoid an unprofessional place. They basically lead you on and ghosted you with an empty generic response.
You’re lucky. At least you got a response back. Usually you just get ghosted even with 2 interviews.
Yep you are definitely not alone. And it is one of the worst feelings when you think you have finally landed something and you get that rejection email. I am sorry that happened to you.
At least You got a response. There was a position I applied for I thought I had it the girl that interviewed me thought I had it and nobody bothered to call me to tell me I didn't. To be honest it happened twice.
