Life after the military is good, especially if you retire, but my advice to the 17Ds and/or the 3D0 is definitely learn your job to the T and get your certs, because the money on the outside is something wonderful. But if you're going to make that move to get out if your not at the retirement point, make sure you use your last year solely for YOU! If you're getting out, start working on resumes and try to do TAPS twice (you'll know why when you attend the first one).
